What were you like as a Yoga-beginner and any advice for a new Student?
I really wanted to experience that satisfaction after yoga practice that everyone always talked about. Also, in the beginning I associated yoga with a lot of strength, handstands & great leggings.
Soon, however, my priorities changed and I put more emphasis on a good body feeling during the practice than on the appearance of the asanas. Besides that, it has become more and more important to me with what intention I practice, on and off the mat.
My advice to new students: focus more on how something feels instead of how something looks.
For all those who are still at the beginning or want to start with yoga:
Mobility and flexibility start in the head and not on the mat.
What inspires you to teach?
It gives me joy when I can do something good for other people. I can support them to find their own essence again, to strengthen their confidence and to arrive at themselves.
What are you known for in your Yoga classes?
I prefer slow movements so that you have enough time to align yourself, feel your body and find your breath.
How do you clear out stress?
If possible, I don't let it get that far. But if everything is too much for me, I recover best in the forest or release pent-up energy by dancing and shake myself from head to toe.
What would you do if you had super-powers?
We are all full of magic, we just have to discover it and use it.
What does ‘Living Yoga’ mean to you?
Yoga life on and off the mat.
A place to come home and arrive. To progress together and learn from each other. A place where personality has priority. A place to be.
